Book1– This is the running order, I know it is very basic and you mentioned that in your feedback, but what you didn’t know was that this was done before the Easter break so that we could get a plan in place and I didn’t know the carts because James only put the Item on there until the night before as they weren’t done early enough.

Week 1  (Before Easter)

The week before Easter we recorded interviews with 8 different people ranging from Neil Jackson on Snuff film making  to some of the script writers that had their script made into dramas these were made available to all the members of the groups so that we could edit and make them into packages ready for the quick turn around after Easter. James and I both met up and talked about the direction we wanted to make our live show into, so we planned it without Jack because he was at work and we decided we wanted to get Chloe Charlton in because we wanted to know what she thought of our drama, so I talked to her and she said that she would be up for it so we talked for a bit about what I might ask her. So we were planned and kinda knew what we wanted the show to sound like but we needed to listen to all the interviews when they were made available to see which interview we wanted for the show

Week 2-3 (During Easter)

During Easter, the whole programme lay a little quiet as none of us talked about any of the elements because we wanted to enjoy the time we had at home before coming back to the show and the university after the 2 weeks off. However we did get a chance to listen to some of the interviews so I did and I liked what I heard on Neil’s about the script writing and storytelling he did, so I put in the chat I think we should use that interview so they agreed.

Week 4 (After Easter)

When we got back from Easter We all met at the Tower bar to discuss the final idea for the show as we had a week to get it all done and sent to Dasiy who was in charge of the showcase we were starting off. During the meeting, we talked about Neil Jackson’s interview and decided to take a smalls section from it to end the show so we could have it over to the next group. This advice was given to us by the lady who came in to help plan the shows the first week back and she gave us some nice ideas on the way we should present the show, which we took on board and it helped to finish the show nicely.

Week 5 (Live show)

The live show was this week, and we hadn’t  written any ques so we had to scramble together all the ques ready for the show, and hence the rushed running order as I was writing that to try and get  a plan to daisy so she could block it out, it was never supposed to be the final draft but we ran out of time. I will talk about the live show in my essay. Reflecting on the whole process I feel that we should have worked during the Easter period as it would have made the work a little easier and we could have planned the whole show a little better then we did and we could have been more effective with our time management.

Critical evaluation

Live show- Semester B

“Run Evaluation Show” was the second show on the showcase on Siren FM, during this critique evaluation I will be talking about the strengths and weaknesses of the show from my point of view, I will also talk about what my role in this show was.

When creating the show James, Jack and myself were a great team, this was because we were on the ball from week one, when allocated time in the workshop James and myself managed to get a great plan sorted for the show, we knew what we wanted to do which was get Chloe Charlton (the scriptwriter) to come in to the show, because we wanted to get her honest view on the piece as I had adapted the script to try and make it fit the brief a little more than the original was, we also split the roles out, because we wanted to get the work done as soon as we could because it was a quick turn around after the Easter break. At this point in time I was working hard to try and demonstrate that I have learnt from the last show, so I took on more responsibilities for this show, so I took control and gave the rest of the team their role, James was editing the package we needed to hand over the show to the next team and Jack was in charge of some of the cues, and I was in charge of getting Chloe in on time as well as the running order that needed to be sent to Daisy. I got in contact with Chloe before breaking up for Easter as I wanted to make sure that she could come, because if she couldn’t we would have needed to rethink our plan, however, she said she would love to do it so, I told her the date and I would contact her closer to the time, with a time. Coming back after Easter, I found out that Jack and James hadn’t done anything for the show, which set us back a little bit as we needed the package and the cues done by the start of the next week. This led me to take some of the cues off Jack so that he could focus on the rest. We had a few meetings that we all decided we needed to do so that we could talk about what we wanted the show to include and finalised all the cues ready for the show.

The live show went really well, however, I did mess up with the running order because I forgot to put the cart numbers on the running order so the technical team didn’t actually know where the items for our show were, which I now know about and would differently make sure to correct next show. The show begins relatively well, with Jack giving a strong start and I felt that James and myself helped to carry the show well,  we ran into some small problems with the Intro because Jacks part was going to take us into the piece but he didn’t make it long enough, however I took control of the show and diverted the show towards the what was coming up I the show, which acted well as a follow up intro, and James and I discussed, Chloe and the piece we made, which filled the rest of the time nicely.  The hand over to Jack was a little weak from myself as I was supposed to hand over to jack with “I hope you all enjoy our work” rather than “yeah” which is what I said. Whilst the drama was playing we got Chloe in and miked up and levels sorted, which was perfect planning by the team as we could relax her for a little bit before she was living. I think I did a great job interviewing her, and getting what we wanted her to talk about, she was a little short with some of her points but I think that we managed to get a good interview. However, there was a fault as I ran a little short and couldn’t think of any questions to ask but luckily James filled the last twenty seconds with another question.  The rest of the show was a little rushed and jagged because we had us talking for the rest of the show, with my section on casting as well as James’ section on the technical side, however we all interjected into each other sections which I feel made the show feel a little more unscripted which makes more relatable presenters which audiences like. When finishing the show we didn’t cue up the Neil Jackson piece well at all, as we were running out of time and we needed to get it on, there the hand over could work, so for future shows I will make sure to keep an eye on the time and maybe we could have practised the ending a little more before our next show.
